Wessex Welding and Fabrications Ltd is an execution class 3 fabricator. Our directly employed workforce has a combined total of over 150 years experience working with steel, its associated procedures and processes.
This experience means our workforce has a broad understanding of fabrication and has a wide variety of skills and techniques at their disposal, those are, being able to weld using MIG/MAG, MMA and TIG machines where, more often than not, they are following technical drawings made using one of the two workstations we have that use Autodesk products, where said products and how we use them are regularly updated to keep current with industry standards.
To keep our workforces’ skills up to date every fabricator is frequently tested by an independent testing body to the standard of BS EN ISO 15614-1 on different types of welds using different material thicknesses.

Fabrication
Our workforce also has access to two indoor cranes capable of lifting up to 3.2 tons each and spanning the length of one of our workshops, this is advantageous to us as it allows us to fabricate more steelwork in a shorter period of time, due to be able to move more of it quickly, or to do jobs where the material for the steelwork is heavier or larger, afterwards it is set aside to be taken to our other workshop where half has been exclusively allocated to painting, where we are able to paint in a range of colours, within our paint shop we have several painters to ensure jobs are painted in a timely manner.
Delivering your project
Once the process of fabrication and painting has been completed it can be stored safely in our secured yard ready for transport where the haulier will have easy access to the national motorway network. As well clients have the option to forgo having their jobs painted in favour of galvanising, we know clients may do this, so we have worked to build connections over the years to make options like galvanising easier to access for our clients.
